Susan O'Hara Inducted as Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing
NBBJ's Susan O'Hara, Clinical Innovations Leader, has been inducted as a 2026 Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, one of the nursing profession's highest honors.
Susan is the only Fellow in this year's class representing an architecture firm, reflecting the growing role of design in improving health outcomes. With more than 40 years of experience as a registered nurse, educator, researcher and healthcare strategist, she bridges the worlds of clinical care, research and design to create healthcare environments that better support patients, families and caregivers.
Throughout her career, Susan has partnered with leading healthcare organizations, universities and health systems—including Boston Children's Hospital, The Ohio State University, Clemson University, Kaiser Permanente and Johns Hopkins Hospital—to advance evidence-based design and improve the delivery of care through the built environment.
The American Academy of Nursing Fellowship recognizes nurse leaders whose contributions have advanced healthcare through leadership, innovation, research and policy. Susan's induction highlights the increasingly important role interdisciplinary collaboration plays in shaping the future of healthcare.
